Young Leader from Bournemouth Champions Housing Reform
Kieron Wilson — Cabinet Member for Housing & Regulatory Services at Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council (BCP) — short-listed for the Young Councillor of the Year award
Independent Councillor Kieron Wilson, representing the Muscliff & Strouden Park ward, has been shortlisted for the prestigious Young Councillor of the Year award in recognition of his impactful work in housing and regulation within the BCP Council area.
Councillor Wilson was first elected on 26 May 2018 and continues to serve in his role for Muscliff & Strouden Park.
He holds the executive role of Cabinet Member for Housing & Regulatory Services.
In this capacity he oversees housing management, landlord/tenant regulation, homelessness strategy and related services across the borough.
Under his leadership, BCP Council has secured £2 million in additional funding to bolster homelessness prevention and support for families in temporary accommodation. Councillor Wilson said:

With the award nomination, Councillor Wilson aims to raise the profile of housing reform and homelessness prevention in the region. His objectives include:
Reducing the number of children living in temporary accommodation
Strengthening landlord-tenant relationships and standards of housing
Building stronger partnerships with community organisations to deliver tailored support to vulnerable residents
