The Weymouth pub reopened on 12th November with an exciting new look

The Famous Old Spa has officially reopened its doors following an impressive £357,000 refurbishment, welcoming guests back to a transformed space that blends modern comfort with its beloved community spirit.

One of the standout new features is the introduction of the innovative “Two Door Pub” concept, which divides the venue into two distinct areas: a vibrant sports bar and a relaxed, family-friendly lounge. This dual layout allows the pub to cater to a wide range of visitors—from locals looking for lively atmosphere to families seeking a cosy, comfortable place to dine.

To mark the grand reopening, two well-known and well-loved community figures, Gordon Brand and Paul Voss, were invited to pull the first pint. Long-standing regulars, Gordon and Paul are considered pillars of The Famous Old Spa community. Gordon’s background in the Navy is a shared bond with many locals, and each year on Remembrance Day, regulars gather at the pub proudly wearing their medals in support of veterans’ charities.

The refurbishment has brought significant enhancements to the sports bar, now equipped with large HD screens to showcase the latest live sports. Guests can also enjoy a dedicated darts area and pool table, adding even more opportunities for friendly competition and socialising.

True to its roots, The Famous Old Spa remains a dog-friendly pub with a strong community feel. Locals can relax with a pint or enjoy classic pub favourites, including its ever-popular Beef Lasagne, made with rich beef ragù, cheddar cheese sauce, and topped with mozzarella and mature cheddar, served alongside garlic bread and a fresh salad garnish.

With the festive season approaching, the pub plans to host a variety of events in the lead-up to Christmas, offering even more reasons for guests to visit and celebrate together.

General Manager Nathan Wray expressed his excitement about the relaunch, saying:

The Famous Old Spa officially reopened on Wednesday 12th November.
