The local community has once again come together in an incredible show of generosity and team spirit — all led by community man Rick Clev — with the goal of raising £1,500 in support of Marie Curie, the charity providing vital care and support to people living with terminal illness.

So far, £1,000 has already been raised thanks to the hugely successful Big Darts Event held at the Park Hotel Pub, and now the team are hoping to reach their target with one final push — aiming to collect the remaining £500 through a series of fun local events.

The next fundraiser on the list is an exciting Pool Tournament, organised and run by Martin Gillibrand (Gilly).

Entry Fee: £5 per player

Prizes: Winner – £100 & Trophy | Runner-up – £50 & Trophy

The event promises to be another fantastic community gathering following the great success of the previous Snooker Event, which was brilliantly run by Austin Peter Wainwright.

Everyone is encouraged to come along, take part, and enjoy the atmosphere while supporting a truly worthy cause. If you can’t make it to the event but would still like to contribute, donations can be made directly at the Park Hotel Pub — just hand it to a member of staff who will add it to the fund pot, or you can pass it to Rick Clev personally to ensure it goes straight to the collection.

Together, this community is proving once again that small local efforts can make a big difference. Let’s help them hit that £1,500 goal for Marie Curie! 💛
