Weymouth and Portland Lions Club has once again stepped up to support the local community this Christmas, donating £1,500 to local food banks alongside 150 selection boxes to help families and individuals in need during the festive season.
The donation reflects the Lions Club’s continued commitment to supporting charitable causes across Weymouth and Portland. Both the financial contribution and the festive treats will assist food banks at one of their busiest and most demanding times of the year, ensuring vital support reaches those who need it most.
President of Weymouth and Portland Lions Club, Trevor Stratton, praised the generosity of the local community, saying:
“These donations simply wouldn’t be possible without the incredible generosity of those who support the Lions throughout the year. Every event, collection, and donation helps us give back to our community. We’re extremely grateful to everyone who contributes — your support enables us to make a real difference for local families, especially at Christmas.”
Looking ahead, the Lions Club has confirmed that fundraising has already begun for its 2025 Christmas Food Bank Appeal, and donations are warmly welcomed from members of the public.
