The Crown Estate has announced planned refurbishment works at the Portland Bill public toilets and car park, with construction scheduled to begin on 12 January 2026. The project is expected to last for approximately six weeks.
During this period, the public toilets will be closed to allow for the refurbishment. To minimise inconvenience for visitors, portable toilets will be provided and available for public use throughout the works.
Access to the public car park is also likely to be restricted, and it may not be fully accessible for the duration of the project. Visitors are advised to plan ahead, allow extra time, and consider alternative parking options where possible.
The Crown Estate has said the improvements are intended to enhance facilities at this popular visitor destination, ensuring they are fit for the future and continue to meet the needs of both locals and tourists.
Members of the public are encouraged to remain aware of on-site signage and any further updates as the works progress.
