Public Asked for Feedback as High Angle Battery Project Comes to an End

Residents and visitors are being invited to share their views following the completion of the Rediscovering High Angle Battery project, which has delivered major improvements to one of Dorset’s most significant historic sites.

Delivered during 2024 and 2025, the Dorset Council–led project focused on improving access to the High Angle Battery, including enhanced entry to its historic tunnels, while also restoring key heritage features such as walls and original structures. The scheme also introduced initiatives to support local wildlife and new interpretation to help tell the story of the site’s military past.

Since reopening, the revitalised site has welcomed more than 3,000 visitors through a programme of events and guided tours, helping people reconnect with the area’s heritage.

Now that the project is complete, Dorset Council is keen to hear from anyone who has visited or engaged with the site. Feedback will be used to evaluate the project’s success and help shape future plans.
