Police arrested a man in his 30s in Weymouth after receiving a report of harassment involving a woman known to him.
According to Dorset Police, officers were first alerted to the incident at around 2.10pm on Friday, 19 December 2025. The report stated that a man was involved in harassment and was believed to be in the Weymouth area, with the victim identified as a woman known to the suspect.
Following enquiries and a sweep of the town, police later located a local man in the area of Carlton Road North during the evening. He was arrested on suspicion of harassment.
Members of the public reported seeing paramedics on scene alongside two police vehicles in the area of St John’s Gardens at around 7pm.
Police have since confirmed that the man was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure before being discharged.
The suspect was subsequently taken into police custody, where he remains while enquiries continue.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said:
“Dorset Police received a report at 2.10pm on Friday 19 December 2025 of harassment involving a man who was reported to be in the Weymouth area and a female victim who was known to him.
Following enquiries, a local man aged in his 30s was located in the area of Carlton Road North on the evening of Friday 19 December 2025 and was arrested on suspicion of harassment.He was taken to hospital as a precaution and was subsequently discharged from hospital and taken into custody.
Enquiries into the matter are ongoing.”
No further details have been released at this stage, and police say investigations remain active.
