A former apprentice at a Weymouth primary school says he is preparing legal action after alleging harassment, discrimination, and repeated interference with his employment following his dismissal earlier this year.

Elias Stanners, who worked at Holy Trinity Church of England Primary School & Community Nursery from April 2024 to March 2025, was dismissed on 13 March 2025 after a disciplinary process. Stanners says the school alleged he had taken a child to the toilet without authorisation and had been left alone with a pupil without required supervision — claims he disputes.

Following his dismissal, Stanners alleges that a member of the school’s senior leadership contacted a number of his subsequent employers, which he says resulted in him losing multiple jobs. He also claims that information from his social media accounts was used to identify his most recent workplace.

Stanners maintains that his Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) record is clear and says the alleged ongoing contact has left him struggling financially, particularly with a baby due early next year.

“I’m trying to work and support my family, but every time I start a new job, it’s taken away from me,” Stanners said. “My DBS is clean and I just want the chance to move on.”

Stanners says he and his family are now pursuing legal advice with the intention of bringing action for harassment, stalking, discrimination and personal injury.

In response to a request for comment, Dorset Council, speaking on behalf of Holy Trinity VC Primary School and Community Nursery, issued the following statement:
