A Bournemouth resident has been left angry and disheartened after CCTV footage appeared to show an Evri delivery driver stealing a parcel shortly after marking it as delivered.

The incident happened yesterday, when Oliver Bruin was expecting a delivery worth £180 from the retailer Ninja. According to CCTV footage from Mr Bruin’s property, the Evri driver can be seen placing the parcel on the doorstep and taking a photograph as proof of delivery. Moments later, the same driver is seen picking the parcel back up and placing it in his van before driving away.
“It’s honestly been really frustrating and disappointing,” Mr Bruin said. “You trust that when a delivery company says your parcel has arrived, it’s actually safe at your door — especially around Christmas when people are spending more. To find out it was stolen by the person meant to deliver it was shocking.”
Mr Bruin said the incident has shaken his confidence in online shopping and delivery services. “It’s made us feel uneasy about ordering online and has really damaged our trust in how deliveries are handled,” he added.
To make matters worse, Mr Bruin claims that Evri refused to offer a refund or accept responsibility despite the clear CCTV evidence. “From what I gathered through other people’s comments, Evri themselves wouldn’t give a refund even though they’re clearly at fault,” he said. “If it had not been for Ninja kindly giving us a refund, we would have lost £180 even with clear proof of theft.”
The alleged theft has sparked anger among local residents, with many sharing similar frustrations about parcel handling and customer service issues with the delivery company.
Evri has been contacted for comment.
