Police are appealing for witnesses after a reported affray on the night of Monday 8 December. At around 10:25 pm, officers responded to reports of a disturbance in St. Thomas Street, involving a group of men.
A man in his 40s was treated at hospital for injuries described as non-life-threatening. Two men — a 22-year-old local from Weymouth and a 32-year-old from Reigate, Surrey — have been arrested on suspicion of assault and affray. Both have since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
In a public appeal, Dorset Police urged anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have relevant CCTV or dash-cam footage, to come forward. Witnesses are asked to contact Dorset Police via their website or call 101 quoting occurrence number 55250180516. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously via Crimestoppers on Freephone 0800 555 111.
The force emphasised the importance of community assistance in supporting the ongoing investigation.
