Appeal for witnesses following commercial burglary in Weymouth
Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following a commercial burglary in Weymouth.

It was reported that between 2.40am and 6am on Thursday 1 January 2026, a man wearing a balaclava gained entry to an arcade on The Esplanade.

Damage was caused to 16 machines inside the premises, with approximately £4,000 in cash stolen. Additional damage to the arcade has been estimated at £10,000.

Police Constable Aaron Strange, of Weymouth police, said:

“We are carrying out enquiries into this break-in and I am appealing to anyone with information to please come forward.

I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity along the seafront in the early hours of Thursday 1 January 2026, or captured any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage from the areas of Brunswick Terrace, Greenhill or Lennox Street.”
