Emergency services were called to Weymouth beach on the evening of the 28th June following a request from the South Western Ambulance Service for air support in transferring a patient from a seafront hotel to further care.

Wyke Regis Coastguard Rescue Team was tasked with assisting in managing crowd control and preparing a safe landing site for the air ambulance on the beach. However, upon the helicopter’s arrival, it was determined that its assistance was no longer needed, and the aircraft was stood down.
Dorset Police also attended the scene on behalf of the coroner.
A spokesperson for the Coastguard said: “Wyke Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked to assist with a landing site for the helicopter but were stood down as it wasn’t required.”
No further details about the incident have been released.
